CECOD is accredited to the United
Nations Convention to Combat Desertification
(UNCCD), Member to Uganda National
NGO Forum and is founder member
of the Mbarara District Civil
Society Organizations Forum (MBADICSOF),
Ankole Civil Society Food Security
Network and the Anti Corruption
Coalition of Ankole (ACCA).
Who makes
up CECOD?
The CECOD family includes; Founder
members that joined the Organization
between 5th September 1999 and
5th September 2000, full members
that fully subscribe to the objectives
of the Organization, Associate
Community Based Organizations
(CBOs) and Networks that subscribe
to the objectives of the Organization
and Honorary members who are organizations
or individuals that rendered a
great service or secure a benefit
to the organization buy either
rendering advisory services, securing
financial assistance in form of
endowments, gifts, or donations
whose membership would be beneficial
to the organization.

Since 1999, CECOD has worked closely
with Mbarara District Local and
other development partners in
the field of natural resource
management and community development.
Some of the projects since implemented
1999 include
Environmental conservation and
Sustainable Agriculture (ECOSA)
Project; funded by Episcopal Relief
and Development
Public Private Partnership for
Urban Environment (PPUE); funded
by UNDP through Living Earth Uganda
and Mbarara Municipality
OVCs Empowerment project in Partnership
with ACORD- Mbarara; under the
Global fund through the Government
of Uganda.
Currently, CECOD in partnership
with the Danish out Door Council
is piloting a National Eco Community
School Programme as a tool for
Sustainable Development in Uganda;
funded by the Danish Government
